Ameritox CMO Elected Chairman of the American College of Physician Executives Board
Harry Leider, M.D., MBA, FACPE, Ameritox’s Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, has been elected as President and Chairman of the Board for the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE), a national organization consisting of more than 10,000 physician leaders.
Dr. Leider became an ACPE member 20 years ago. He served as a core faculty member within the College for 13 years teaching courses on improving the quality of healthcare. He was elected to the board five years ago and has previously served as the organization’s secretary-treasurer and vice-president.
“I look forward to working with the board to involve the ACPE more in healthcare reform, and in improving the quality of healthcare and enhancing patient safety, two of my personal passions,” said Dr. Leider.
“The College always seems to elect the best person, with the best skills, at the right moment in time,” says Barry Silbaugh, Chief Executive Officer of the ACPE. “Dr. Leider brings a vision of the strategic potential of the College and its members to effect change in health care, along with the leadership to make it a reality. He’ll direct the College’s initiatives to help the nation find solutions to healing a health system battered by the economy that also is not meeting the needs of consumers, businesses and health care professionals.”
The ACPE is the oldest and longest standing organization in the United States to represent physicians who are leaders and executives in healthcare. It offers a number of training programs to physicians, including a certified executive program. The organization helps members learn to become physician leaders and highly effective executives through educational programming, networking opportunities, and partnerships with other healthcare organizations.
“Considering the incredible history of this organization and breadth of talent of its membership,” says Dr. Leider, “I am incredibly honored, humbled and motivated to continue my work with the Board and our dynamic group of physician-executive members to make a significant impact on the health of all patients.”
