Laboratory Director

Dr. Sue Brown brings nearly two decades of forensic drug testing and toxicology experience to her position as laboratory director of Ameritox’ Greensboro laboratory. An accomplished, senior-level laboratory operations director, Dr. Brown has enjoyed a successful career implementing new and innovative best practices in drug testing laboratories.

Prior to joining Ameritox, Dr. Brown served as a consultant to the federal agency for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), where she reviewed and revised federal workplace drug testing guidelines. In her prior directorship roles, she established two laboratories from start-up to completion of their SAMSHA-certification and also helped to fully restore a New Orleans workplace testing lab just five months after hurricane devastation.

Dr. Brown received her Bachelor of Health Sciences in Medical Technology from Duke University and earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Chemistry from the Medical College of Virginia – Virginia Commonwealth University. She recently completed the Executive Master of Business Administration Program from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Brown is board-certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. A dedicated professional, she maintains membership with the Society of Forensic Toxicologists and is a frequent keynote speaker at industry events and contributor to leading professional publications.
