A surgery technician who used to work in two hospitals in Colorado has pleaded guilty to charges of “tampering with a consumer product” and “obtaining a controlled substance by deceit or subterfuge,” according to a report on ABC News. She is expected to be sentenced to twenty years in prison during a sentencing hearing scheduled for Friday in federal court in Denver.
27-year-old Kristen Diane Parker reportedly stole syringes filled with painkillers from operating carts as she struggled to cope with heroin addiction. She committed the thefts while working at the Rose Medical Center in Denver and at the Audubon Surgery Center in Colorado Springs.
