Columbus sheriff has plan to help prescription drug problems

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Authorities in Columbus County are looking to take on the county’s prescription drug problem.

According to the sheriff’s office, people in Columbus County are issued more prescription drugs per capita than other county in North Carolina.

Deputies say they are constantly arresting people for selling pills, but Sheriff Chris Batten said his office is getting ready to start a program called ‘Second Chance.’
