U.S. Attorney Jim Letten says a 48-year-old Mandeville doctor has pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining painkillers and other controlled substances.
Paul Nathan entered his guilty plea to a 10-count indictment on Wednesday in federal court in New Orleans.
The doctor was accused of prescribing and dispensing OxyContin, other painkillers and sleeping pills after he was barred from doing so in August 2008. Nathan ran several vascular clinics at the time.
