Editorial: Doctors-turned-drug dealers warrant harsh penalties

The recent sentencing of a doctor for his role in an alleged pill mill should serve as a lesson to others who might consider using their professional status and credentials to abet such an operation.
The price that Dr. John Theodore Tiano will pay for his involvement in the alleged distribution of millions of prescription drug pills is up to 14 years in prison, a possible fine of up to $500,000, possible restitution and the loss of his medical license.
