Jupiter to consider moratorium on pain clinics Tuesday

A moratorium on new pain clinics that dispense powerful prescription drugs such as OxyContin is scheduled for a final town council vote Tuesday night.
If approved, applications for new pain clinics will not be considered until the town adopts new regulations for them. Town staff would work with law enforcement and medical experts to establish the new regulations to prevent abuse, said Council Member Wendy Harrison.
“We need to make sure these clinics are operating legally,” she said.
