Ranges and Cut-Off Levels


A prescription monitoring service is only as good as its ranges and cut-off levels. We offer the most thorough, patient-tailored reports.  Only Ameritox offers the comparison of normalized values to established prescription-specific ranges. Ranges can offer insight into:

  • Normalized high values close to an expected range could be due to individual metabolism differences. Those that are noticeably outside the expected range on the very high side might indicate that the patient may be taking much more medication than is prescribed or possibly has a metabolic problem.
  • Normalized low values near an expected range could be due to individual metabolism differences. Those that are well outside the expected range on the very low side could indicate that the patient may possibly be taking far less medication than is prescribed or may have a metabolic problem.
We also have the lowest initial detection cut-off levels in the industry. Cut-off levels are critical. A simple lab test may be designed to detect only medications and illicits at high levels. Negative results may fail to detect low levels of medications and illicits. Positive results may indicate that the patient is taking their prescription as directed, but may not indicate substituting or supplementing of medication.
